Located across three campuses, the Faculty of Health offers a range of coursework and research programs that contribute to the improvement of health care and services in the community.

Strengthening Australia’s ability to improve the quality of life is one of the aims in establishing research centers and health programs. The faculty research is assisting with improvements in dementia research, road safety, and wound healing.

Bachelor of health information management

  • Combine knowledge in business, IT and health to supply data that is integral to improving patient care and health services.
  • Immerse yourself in current and emerging technologies to develop skills in health information technology, people management, data and information management and the principles of medicine and health care.
  • Opportunities for real experience and networking with placements and site visits.
  • Applicants who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in a health science or IT-related field may be eligible for credit for prior learning.

Professional recognition
Graduates of this course are eligible for full graduate membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia.

Bachelor of nursing

  • QUT was the first provider of tertiary nurse education in Queensland and has over 35 years of experience and industry consultation.
  • Gain extensive practical experience with clinical units every semester.
  • Opportunities to complete industry placements in areas of nursing practice that are of interest to you, for example, emergency nursing or paediatrics.
  • Prepare yourself for a career in public and private hospitals, nursing homes, community health, domiciliary nursing, school health, pathology laboratories, alcohol and drug dependence and the armed services.

Professional recognition
This course meets the requirements for accreditation by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council. Both students and graduates may apply for membership of the Australian College of Nursing.
